bkind
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Jewish Youth Network (JYN) assembled a team of volunteers to assist those in need. While the situation has improved, we continue this beautiful initiative to help those less fortunate, especially during the holidays.
bkind provides an opportunity for our youth to experience fundraising, volunteering, and performing chesed (acts of kindness) within the community.
bkind distributes aid to local families and individuals through grocery gift cards, gas cards, basic food items, Matzah for Passover, and financial support. While requests are made year-round, there is a higher volume of requests during Jewish holidays like Passover and Rosh Hashanah. While we are happy to offer support when possible, please note that we are not a food bank or an organization providing ongoing assistance. To ensure we can help as many people as possible, we kindly ask that requests for assistance be limited to no more than 3-4 times per year, and we appreciate your understanding.
We are excited to announce that our JYN Chesed Crew will be renamed the bkind— The Devora Chesed Fund. Generous donors have committed to doubling all donations received yearly for this initiative to help those in need.
The Midrash teaches that, just as bees work tirelessly to gather for their queen, Jews are constantly engaged in performing Mitzvot for G-d, striving to bring goodness and light into the world. In the same spirit of community and care, we are here to support you. If you find that you need ongoing assistance, we are more than happy to connect you with other local organizations that can offer further help.

- Critical Errands: If you are homebound and need help with urgent errands, please let us know.
- Financial Help: Many families are struggling, especially with unemployment. Thanks to the generosity of donors to our annual match-a-thon, we offer gift cards for those in need. We hope to increase this number with additional donations.
- Brighten Your Home: We offer Shabbat candle kits for those who need them. Instructions on lighting Shabbat candles are available at the JYN Robbins Family Campus.
- Prayers: If you are feeling unwell and would like us to pray for you, we would be honored to do so.
